Submission period for the 2009 competition is now closed. Finalists will be announced on February 2nd and honored at the 2009 L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival, held March 5-8 in Los Angeles, CA.
Contest Mission: We couldn’t help but notice that comedies don’t seem to win their fair share of those prestigious screenwriting competitions. And that just didn’t seem fair. If you write a script that’s original and entertaining with a surprising plot and great characters and make it HILARIOUS too, well, that deserves an award! This is a festival started by funny people, for funny people. All judges are top names in the fields of comedy and filmmaking. And we didn’t skimp on the prizes either!

In the world of animation, he's a regular in Aaron McGruder’s The Boondocks. Gary recently starred in the improvised film, Cook Off. Other films include Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Martin Short’s improvised feature La La Wood, Undercover Brother and Soul Plane. He has also written for several internet web series. Gary is very pretty.
