Movie Magic Screenwriter Screenplay Competition
There are three Finalists chosen in the Comedy Features category, three Finalists chosen in the Comedy Shorts category, three Finalists chosen in the Half-Hour Comedy TV Pilot category, and three Finalists chosen in the Half Hour Comedy TV Spec Script category..
A Grand Prize winner will be chosen from the Finalists in each category. Prizes are subject to change.
The winner of the Best Comedy Feature Award will receive:
- $2,000 cash
- Two (2) VIP Festival Passes to the L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA (April 4-7, 2013)
- Up to $1,000 towards round-trip airfare and local accommodations
- In-person meeting with management/production company (TBD). Previous meetings have included:
- Benderspink, a management/production company (American Pie films, The Hangover)
- Generate, a talent management (Janeane Garofalo, Ryan Eggold, Patton Oswalt) and production company (David Alan Grier's Chocolate News on Comedy Central, Comedians of Comedy)
- Mosaic Media Group, an A-list management (Will Ferrell, Judd Apatow, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jim Carrey) and production company whose credits include Elf, Get Smart, and Stepbrothers
The L.A. Comedy Scripts Best Comedy Short winner will receive:
- $1,000 cash
