About the FestivalThe L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival, currently the largest comedy film festival in the U.S., is a four-day, non-stop celebration of comedic short films with screenings, industry panels and a red-carpet awards event. LACS was named one of Moviemaker Magazine's “25 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” in both 2009 and 2011, and was honored as one of the "Top Ten Film Festivals in the U.S." by the Brooks Institute.
Co-founded by Boston Legal's Gary Anthony Williams, L.A. Comedy Shorts attracts heavyweights from the world of comedy, including Will Ferrell and Judd Apatow’s 'FunnyOrDie.com’, a major sponsor of the festival. Past celebrity participants have included Mark Hamill, Jane Lynch, Sean Astin, Adam Carolla, Julie Bowen, Bob Odenkirk, Bobcat Goldthwait, and many others.
Winners receive cash prizes and valuable industry meetings, and all filmmakers enjoy great exposure from the heavy industry presence at the festival. Winning scripts and films have been requested or reviewed by:

Festival Artistic Director
GARY ANTHONY WILLIAMS appeared as a series regular on Boston Legal, and as Abe Kenarbin on Malcolm in the Middle. Other credits include a series regular role on Blue Collar TV and appearances on Reno 911, CSI, Andy Barker, P.I. and Lovespring International.
In the world of animation, he's a regular in Aaron McGruder’s The Boondocks as the voice of Uncle Ruckus. Gary recently starred in the improvised film Cook Off. Other films include Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Martin Short’s improvised feature La La Wood, Undercover Brother and Soul Plane. He has also written for several internet web series.
Gary is very pretty.
