What better way to wrap up LA Comedy Shorts than a red carpet awards gala overlooking Los Angeles?
The closing night party takes place at the amazing Elevate Lounge, situated on the penthouse level of a high-rise building in Downtown Los Angeles. Expect to see lots of celebrity guests on the red carpet, and enjoy delicious complimentary appetizers (provided by the attached Takami Restaurant) and sponsored drinks from A Donkey and Goat Winery, Prairie Organic Vodka, Ventura Limoncello, and Bluecoat American Dry Gin.
Oh yeah, and the Awards Ceremony. We will be presenting filmmakers and screenwriters with over $30,000 in cash and prizes in the following categories: The Funny or Die Best-of-Fest Grand Prize, Atom.com Best Comedy Short Film (30 minutes or less), Best Comedy ‘Shortie’ Short (5 minutes or less) and Atom.com Best Animated Comedy Short (30 minutes or less), as well as the Audience Choice Award.
The L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival is run in conjunction with The L.A. Comedy Scripts Screenplay Competition, presented by Movie Magic Screenwriter and sponsored by The Write Brothers. We will honor the LA Comedy Scripts screenplay finalists and announce the winner in each script category (Comedy Feature Screenplay, Comedy Short Screenplay, and Half-Hour Comedy TV Pilot Script).
Appearing in person to accept the coveted "Commie" Award is the fabulously talented and outrageously under-recognized comedic actress/chameleon MISSI PYLE:
